Good day!
This week brought some notable moves from the biggest AI platforms, alongside a smaller crop of genuinely new apps worth paying attention to.
From Google unveiling Gemini 4 Argon and OpenAI expanding its advertising tools to new products rethinking how businesses handle everyday work, here’s what changed — and what looks genuinely useful.
Let’s dive in!

🎬 SPIRA MAXIMA
Digest: Paste in a script and Spira Maxima builds the finished short-form video — presenter, B-roll, captions and music — in one pass. The interesting part for small teams is that it tackles the editing work after generation, rather than leaving you with another collection of clips to assemble.
For: Founders, ecommerce brands, service businesses, creators and small marketing teams producing Reels, TikToks or Shorts.
Solves: Turning an idea, script or product footage into a finished social video without separately creating the presenter, finding B-roll, adding captions and editing everything together.
Price: Free plan available for videos up to 20 seconds. Standard generation is $0.15 per finished video second, discounted to $0.075 per second during the launch month.
Setup: Easy — start with a script, product shots, a photo and optional voice sample, or footage you have already recorded. No video-editing experience or coding is required.

📈 SALESBOND

Digest: SalesBond continuously checks a Pipedrive pipeline for stalled deals, missing next steps and other warning signs, then turns that analysis into a prioritised daily plan. It is essentially the deal-by-deal pipeline review a sales manager rarely has time to perform every morning.
For: Founders, sales managers and small B2B sales teams already using Pipedrive.
Solves: Manually opening deal after deal to work out which opportunities have gone quiet, which need following up and where the team's attention should go today.
Price: From $9 per user/month, with a three-seat minimum. Growth is $14/user/month and Pro $19/user/month. A seven-day free trial is available.
Setup: Easy — install it from the Pipedrive Marketplace and connect the existing account. Pipedrive remains the CRM, so there is no data migration or new sales system for the team to adopt. Pipedrive is currently the only supported CRM.

💬 HELPPLIX AGENT

Digest: HelppliX Agent handles incoming conversations across voice, WhatsApp, SMS, web chat and email, answering routine questions, qualifying leads and supporting bookings before handing the conversation to a person when necessary. It is closer to an AI front desk than another website chatbot.
For: Service businesses, hospitality companies, professional firms and smaller teams handling a steady flow of customer enquiries, appointments or leads.
Solves: Customers contacting a business while nobody is available — and staff repeatedly answering the same questions, collecting the same information or manually qualifying every new enquiry.
Price: Undisclosed
Setup: Moderate — the agent is configured around the company's knowledge, conversation rules, booking processes and existing systems rather than being a completely plug-and-play chatbot. Human handover and approval rules can be built in. The company is currently concentrating on the Australian and US markets.

⚡ EVERYTHING ELSE IN AI TOOLS & MODELS
The new apps were only half the story. Some of the biggest AI products also shipped meaningful changes this week.
Google unveiled Gemini 4 Argon, its new frontier model for long-running software, professional knowledge and cybersecurity work. Argon is initially rolling out only to trusted cyber defenders through Google’s Fairwind program while the company prepares for wider access.
OpenAI expanded ChatGPT Ads measurement and advertiser controls, adding new measurement partnerships and tools for evaluating advertising performance. It also announced a more visual ad format, although the US test begins later this month rather than being generally available now.
OpenAI expanded Finances in ChatGPT to Free and Go users in the US on October 2, widening access to connected-account spending and investment analysis. The product has also gained weekly insights, credit monitoring, stock watchlists and voice support since its original launch.
Anthropic moved new Cowork tasks for Pro and Max users to the cloud on October 6, removing the “Only on your computer” option for new tasks. Cloud jobs can continue after a laptop is closed, although access to local files, browser control and some other local capabilities still depends on the desktop app being available.
Shopify started rolling out Canvas, a new store-design workspace that lets merchants edit pages directly or ask Sidekick to change anything from one section to an entire theme. It is rolling out to existing stores, with third-party themes, Markets, translations and app blocks among the features not supported at launch.
Microsoft opened Work IQ in preview on September 30, giving Copilot and agents a governed understanding of business data from Dynamics 365 and Power Platform rather than forcing each agent to reconstruct that context independently. Rollout continues through October.
Microsoft began the general-availability rollout of Copilot in SharePoint on September 30, moving its natural-language tools for asking questions, creating SharePoint content and running workflows beyond the public-preview stage as availability reaches tenants progressively.
That's it for today!
We'll be back next week to see which new launches survive the same test — genuinely new, genuinely usable and actually worth interrupting your work to investigate.
See you soon,
